What is Central Business District (CBD)?

A Central Business District is a economic center of a city. It is equipped with adequate infrastructure and utilities, and it has a high level of economic activity.

A Central Business District (CBD) is one of the most commonly used terms in the commercial real estate industry and is defined as the area of a city that has the highest concentration of businesses, retailers, etc. Located in the center of the city, it has the highest density of urban people compared to the rest of the town, offering a healthy environment where various commercial activities can take place.

In metro cities today, CBDs are a diverse region that includes not only retail space, commercial spaces, offices, banking institutions, government centers and medical centers, but also entertainment hubs, restaurants, hotels and residential areas.

It is more expensive to buy real estate in the CBD than in other areas of the city.

For example, property rates in Connaught Place vary between Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000 per square foot, which is much higher than Old Chanakyapuri and Chandni Chowk.

Even though all these seemingly minor but very important things may seem invasive, you should seriously consider the above parameters. If you are an investor looking for opportunities, it is important to understand the concept of CBDs as this can be helpful.
