The Role of WAPA in Ahmedabad

There is no question that Ahmedabad has been a center for the economic and industrial hub in India. The city also has developed a high-level infrastructure, drawing talent from all over India.

On Forbes’s list of fastest-growing cities of the decade, Ahmedabad ranked third. As of 2020, the gross domestic product of the Ahmedabad metro is expected to reach $80 billion. According to the Ease of Living Index, Ahmedabad is the third-best city in India for residents.

With an expanding population and a growing property market, Ahmedabad is a major hub for various industries generating countless jobs. The real estate market is on the rise to serve this fast-growing population and the investor-led real estate industry & has become a well-driven end-user market. 

Several of the well-known developers like HN Safal, Bakeri Group, Adani Group, Pacifica Group, and Arvind Smartspaces are contributing to the growth of Ahmedabad city, especially in its Western part.

In addition, factors such as low-interest rates and schemes from reputed builders have contributed to the increased interest from buyers to buy houses. They have also fueled the growth of the commercial infrastructure in Ahmedabad.

In Western Ahmedabad, Bopal, Ghuma, Shela, Shilaj and Godhavi are a few areas that are experiencing booms in both residential and commercial projects. The growth is partly attributed to NRIs, investors, as well as affordable property prices. 

Near the Godhavi area, Ahmedabad hosts some of the most prominent shopping centres and quality educational facilities. Development in the Western Ahmedabad region has led to a change in the city’s real estate market. 

WAPA area is located near Bopal and Ghuma Gam. This is one of the areas of Ahmedabad from the western part that is becoming popular due to its favourable features such as wide roads, smart planning, green infrastructure and others. It is being developed by the AUDA authority. 

A TP scheme in Gujarat has been approved by the Gujarat government to be constructed in addition to Bopal and Ghuma Gam. The two preliminary TP Schemes approved by the Gujarat government are TP Scheme No. 429 (Godhavi-Manipur) in Ahmedabad under AUDA and TP Scheme No 71 (Vadod) in Surat.

It is considered Ahmedabad’s first smart city where the quality of life of people is the priority. 

Many famous developers are coming up with luxurious projects for the premium segment. Because it is well connected to several prominent institutions and with good infrastructure, home-buyers are inclined to buy houses in this area. Some of the projects are A, b, c.

Some of the features in area development are greenery, landscaping, wide roads, a cycling path, smart drainage system. AUDA has been developing basic facilities like roads, sewerage systems, street lights, sports facilities, etc. The greenfield WAPA city will be developed pollution free and well planned with a utility corridor. TP 429 is near SP Ring Road and South Bopal, where the WAPA will get developed.
