2. The Big Short (2015)

This film is based on a book with the same title. It explores the 2008 housing market crash and how a real estate bubble led to it. 

3. The Queen of Versailles (2012)

The story is about Jackie and David Siegal, who start constructing one of the largest single-family homes in the nation. But the collapse of the economy in 2008 impacts their progress.

4. Promised Land (2012)

A small town is explored to purchase drilling rights from the locals. Two petroleum company employees are successful at first, but eventually, encounter resistance after a resident worries about the safety of fracking.

5. He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)
